Kapama Karula

Kapama Karula is a small, intimate safari lodge offering seven luxury tents and five exclusive chalets which nestle discretely under a canopy of trees in the natural bush to ensure solitude and privacy. The camp is situated on the Klaserie River which provides the perfect setting for this unique camp. Karula means "the place of peace" and in every way is true to this name.

A short walk through pathways brings you to the Central lodge area where you will find the refreshing swimming pool and tree-house pub and breakfast verandah built up in the tree tops. You may wish to sit quietly in the thatched, open lounge which overlooks the river, spotting any animals that may be passing, or just watch birds going about their business whilst you become attuned to the sounds of the bush.

Room Description

7 luxury air-conditioned tents and 5 large exclusive chalets are the epitome of luxury.

Each with a his and hers basin, inside and outside shower and sliding glass doors that will wrap around the chalet 260 degrees to offer guest the opportunity to have unrestricted views onto one of the most sought after locations – the Klaserie river. The 115m² chalets are air-conditioned and comes with every form of luxury most can think of.

Telephone calls, shop purchases, personal bar account & Mini-Bar, clay pigeon shooting, elephant back safari experience, fishing and any other charges incurred, visit to Hoedspruit endangered Species Centre, Exclusivity of venue, optional extras.

Extra information

Climate: Warm to tropical with summer temperatures of approximately 35°Coccurring during the months of December, January and February. Nights are comfortably warm. Winter evenings can be cold. The height of the rainy season being from January to March.

Situated in a "low risk" malaria area.
